Teddybär Welt 2009 show on 14 th and 15th March 2009 at Wiesbaden/Germany

Trend Bearometer for Teddy Fans from all over the World

On 14th and 15th March 2009 the famous German spa Wiesbaden will be meeting point for teddy bear enthusiasts from all five continents. The teddy bear lovers are drawn to the Teddybär Welt show at the Rhein-Main-Halls. The first big bear fair of the current year gives the perfect overview on the new teddy trends in 2009. To keep the high show standard the number of exhibitors is limited again to 300 booths. As in the years before the renowned German teddy bear manufacturers like Steiff, Teddy Hermann, Clemens, Kösener Spielzeug or Zwergnase use the Teddybär Welt in order to present their novelties to the public for the first time after the Nuremburg Toy Fair. Numerous well-known teddy bear artists attend the show as well with their new classic or whimsical bear creations. They not only come from the whole of Europe and Russia, but from the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and New Zealand, too. Last not least the world market leader of mohair plush, Reinhard Schulte, and other supplies companies present their brand new fabrics and accessories.

Friends of antique teddy bears and Steiff animals find at the Teddybär Welt the best ways to extend their collections, and experts estimate vintage bears for free. Additionally there are free lectures on bear related themes and a special exhibition of the famous Puppenhausmuseum Basel to commemorate Margarete Steiff’s 100th day of death. Not to forget various lectures and competitions for bear makers, beginners and advanced artists alike.

Sunday sees a special highlight of the two-day bear festival with Margarete’s Teddy Café organised by Steiff. Participants not only enjoy a cake buffet but receive a Steiff mohair bear, a voucher and free entry to the Teddybär Welt show, and with some luck they can win valuable prizes at the raffles held during the afternoon.
